The King James Bible edition by Various Artists Religion Spirituality eBooks

I've looked at a few Kindle Bibles before, and was always disappointed by the table of contents/search feature. Searching was much slower than a paper Bible during any service where the preacher would move around from verse to verse. The slowness made the Kindle Bible useless, and I would have to return to my paper Bible in defeat.

This is the first Kindle Bible I've seen that can be used to keep up with a preacher on the fly. This is vital to make a Kindle Bible functional in a real setting, the way it's supposed to.

Every Kindle Bible publisher should take note of the "Go To Verse" feature. This makes navigation a snap, and makes search time at least four times as fast as before. Highly recommended.

Finally, decent navigation to get right to the verse you want. With this version, you always know where you are. You can go directly to a book, chapter or verse using the 'find' feature. This version begins with instructions to navigate around, as each verse is coded for easy access with abbreviated book name, chapter number and then verse number. For those who are spelling challenged, there's a list of all the books and the first three characters, which are used as the abbreviation, plus the tiebreaker code for books like Jude and Judges that both start out with the same letters. The code is easy and bookmarking the list of abbreviations makes returning to it very doable, if needed. It's even easier to 'Go To Beginning' and page forward to it, since it's only a few pages in.

Another advantage I really like is that if I'm just reading along sequentially and then put the aside for a while, when I return later, I know immediately what book I'm in. With the other versions I've tried, it was hard for me to find out if I didn't remember because the book title was only given once at the beginning of the book. I'd have to page backward to find the book title, then return to the location I'd been reading, which could take a while if I was a ways into the book. In this version, each verse is indented with the code (ex joh3v16) preceding it.

I'm pleased someone came up with a way to use the built in navigation to advantage in this way. Next thing I'd like to see is the ability to search for phrases rather than just individual words. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it over the free version.
You cannot search in this bible. It doesn't even have a table of contents letting you go to a particular book. If you want to read cover to cover this is your version. Because it is digital, you cannot return it or at least I haven't found a way. I'd like my 2.99 back to apply to a different KJV. This did not meet my expectations, you get what you pay for I guess.
You can return it for a refund under Manage digital books/devices. Select the book and click on the choose options, return for refund. They will remove it from your list and devices.
King James Bible with "Go To Verse" - Edition - eBook (Mar. 19, 2009) by Deep Field Publishing King James Bible with "Go To Verse"is definitely the best Bible I've tried. Not only is the navigation easy (and quick if the thing is fully charged) but I can make notes and underline at will, knowing if I learn more and want to improve the note or even take it away, I can! It's easy to get to the right passage and read there as far as you want and then use the back button to get back to the previous one. Matthew Henry's Concise Bible Commentary for (KJV) (cross linked with built in Bible) (1) is the perfect study tool to pair with this and is also easy to navigate in. It's easy also to toggle back and forth between the Go To Verse Bible and the MH. Finally, since it is so easy to switch the default dictionary with a couple of clicks, I've reset my dictionary to Easton's Bible Dictionary for (instant definition lookup while reading any Bible) (Updated)Easton's Bible Dictionary, which has excellent, meaty, God-honoring definitions, some fairly extensive, like a commentary on the fly. Since the concordances I tried were pretty unwieldy, I added a Zondervan All in OneZondervan All-in-One Bible Reference Guide, and it is also a good tool and gives numerous relevant references for each entry. If an easy-to-use concordance comes along, I'll probably get it, but for now, I think I'm set!
I've tried a lot of Bibles for the Paperwhite but this is the best KJV and easiest to locate verses. One can use the three tap method or just do a search for the first 3 letters of a book with a chapter and a "." with a verse (psa23.3).

This works perfectly on the Fire HDX as well. Thus, one can use this one Bible to read on one device, sync, and then continue on the other device. On the HDX text to speech works great with pauses at the end of each verse and the statement of the verse with the words to follow.

Now we need one like this with the NIV.

On the Paperwhite the Bible Encyclopedia available from can be made the primary dictionary and then each word can be looked up for more information. The Bible Encyclopedia does not work properly on the Fire HDX.

If reading any book on the Paperwhite 2nd Gen, one can search "all text" and get the Bible verse. Then return to one's place in the book. That cannot be done on the Fire HDX.

By the way, indexing on both devices took less than 60 minutes.

One can open the KJV in the for PC app, locate verses and then COPY and PASTE one's own notes into the eBook from other documents or apps. After syncing they will be on the Paperwhite and the Fire HDX.

Finally, the bookmark system on the Paperwhite 2nd Generation and the Fire HDX are similar with all bookmarks being addressable in the upper right hand corner. Thus, one could keep one bookmark for the Old Testament and another for the New Testament and read the entire Bible at one's own pace always able to return where one left off.
